Rush University Medical Center
Rush University Medical Center is an expanding 800-bed academic medical center on Chicago’s west side, affiliated with Rush University. Rush has a large cardiovascular and thoracic surgery department that performs hundreds of surgical procedures annually.
Rush has a rapidly growing cardiothoracic anesthesia practice which includes a wide spectrum of open-heart cases, including complex aortic repairs, advance valve repairs, left ventricular assist devices and ECMO support. Rush is also one of the busiest ‘hybrid’ case volumes in the city and is involved in multiple clinical studies of cutting-edge technologies for hybrid valve repairs. Our thoracic surgeons are known throughout the region for their expertise in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and have the best outcomes and shortest length of stay data in the Chicago area. The anesthesia department is home to a very large residency program and has a thriving, NIH-funded research division.
Due to expanding services, the Department of Anesthesiology is currently recruiting Cardiac, Regional and General Anesthesiologists. These positions involve clinical work in a multispecialty O.R. and requires commitment to active involvement in patient care and teaching trainees, with opportunities for scholarly effort and clinical research.
