Haven Spine + Pain is APC’s new interventional pain practice which was established in November of 2021. The practice is focused at offering leading edge chronic pain care with an emphasis on personalized, multidisciplinary care. Physicians who work at Haven have the unique opportunity to practice a blend of anesthesia and chronic pain management within the private practice model. As this is a newer practice, physicians will have a significant impact on the foundation of the practice as we continue to expand.

Job Requirements
• Certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology (Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine)
• Desire to research and advance the field.
• Compassionate attitude with a focus on outstanding patient care.
• Must display a high level of understanding and patience when dealing/working with patients
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Time management and organizational skills

• Effective problem solving ability
Essential Job Functions
• Assess and monitor physiological and psychological needs of the patient to formulate an adequate anesthetic plan
• Manage and administer anesthesia during surgical procedures
• Monitor, manage, and treat changes in patient functions during operations, including breathing, hear rate and blood pressure
• Monitor conditions of patients before, during, and after anesthesia to look out for adverse reactions
• Communicate with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services
• Coordinate and direct a team of nurses, medical technicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities as requested or required.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate literature and attending relevant conferences, seminars, etc.
• Maintain professional demeanor and positive attitude with staff and patients
• Interview/examine patients and synthesize available data to determine an appropriate care plan for the treatment of chronic pain
• Assess patients for appropriate diagnostic testing, interventional pain treatments and tailored medication plans
• Communicate closely with office staff and other medical professionals to coordinate timely patient care
• Maintain detailed medical records to allow for streamlined execution of care plan
• Promote practice growth by meeting with referral sources, attending networking events, and expanding resources for patients and referrers
• Balance responsibilities of operating room anesthesia with outpatient clinic duties
• Maintain knowledge of latest research, advancements, and innovative techniques in the field of pain medicine
