Large 100+ MD only Anesthesia group looking for BC/BE Anesthesiologists to cover community hospital and surgery center.

Big anesthesia practice in a small community setting is the appeal of Woodland Memorial Hospital. This is a practice where you will use all of your skills. We have a very advanced and productive spine service where you will use TIVA anesthetics and occasional invasive monitoring. Our total joint practice is busy with two teams routinely finishing 10 knees or hips by 5pm while providing regional anesthesia and post op analgesia. Our sports orthopedists expect analgesic blocks for shoulders and ACLs. Our general surgeons appreciate our ability to provide analgesic blocks for hernias, laparotomies and breast surgery. We provide labor epidurals for our small Labor and Delivery unit. Our group also provides anesthesia for routine pediatric patients, usually for ENT and dental procedures. You will not lose your skills here.

Due to the breadth of services we provide, we stay in a quiet, comfortable, well- appointed call room outside of the hospital. For this service, you receive $2,500 for weeknights and $5,000 for a Saturday or Sunday. In addition, all work is also reimbursed on a fee for service basis, using a pooled unit value. Call is not onerous and currently rotated between the 7 members of our sub-group.

Woodland Memorial Hospital for many years was known as the “Mayo Clinic of the West”. Dr. Henry Mayo visited the early hospital many times as the clinic adopted his multi-specialty group model. It continues to provide high level care that belies its size.

Woodland is located 20 miles East of the State Capital and 10 mile North of Davis. Originating at the time of the gold rush, Woodland has a long history as the county seat and an important railroad crossroads. Woodland continues to be a center of agriculture and has an affordable housing market with a heavily treed downtown and historic Victorian District.

Davis, to the south, is one of the last real college towns and is home of UC Davis which is rated in the top 10 public universities in the country. The public school district is exceptional. Many of our partners live and raise their families in Davis and cycle the quiet country roads to Woodland for work.
Several partners also choose to live West of the town in the beautiful rolling hills that mark the start of the Coastal Range and the gateway to Napa Valley. The location and call structure of Woodland Memorial Hospital gives partners the option to live in the city or a rural setting. A short drive away are San Francisco, Napa Valley, Sacramento, the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe. This explains the our group of avid sailors, cooks, pilots, skiers, cyclists and young families.
