Founded in 1935, the not-for-profit Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) started as a 12-bed hospital in a Victorian home in Whiteville. Today, the modern 154-bed facility of CRHS is known for its skilled and dedicated medical providers, who represent a range of specialties.

Case Assignments
General, peds, vascular, robotic, urologic, orthopedic, and gynecologic surgery

Shifts
Two anesthesiologists are present each day with the next day off following call—night call is every third night

Our group consists of four anesthesiologists and seven CRNAs who work together in a care team model.

Responsibilities
Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
Pre-anesthesia assessment
Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitoring of the patient’s physiological condition
Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements
M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
ECFMG and FLEX
Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
Currently licensed as a physician
