ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Acute Pain Service at Tampa General Hospital consists of Attendings, nine Advanced Practice Providers and ten Block Nurses. On a monthly basis, the service performs over 280 nerve blocks, over 380 in-hospital pain consults and over 1500 in-hospital pain follow ups. Fellows should expect to perform 1000 plus blocks during their one year in training. Position will be 80% fellowship and 20% attending anesthesiologist.

Providers at Tampa General Hospital consist of a mixture of private practice and university physician and specialty teams. The Acute Pain Service works closely with all surgical lines, medical specialties and primary care providers.

Tampa General Hospital, is a private not-for-profit hospital with more than 1000 beds and 50,000 plus anesthetics provided yearly. As one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in Florida, TGH serves a dozen counties with a population in excess of four million. It is the area’s only level 1 trauma center and one of just three burn centers in Florida. The hospital is home to one of the leading organ transplant centers in the country, having performed more than 6,000 adult solid organ transplants. TGH is the primary teaching hospital for the University Of South Florida Health Morsani College Of Medicine.
