NORTH SHORE ANESTHESIA (NSA)

Job Description
Opening for Two (2) CRNAs (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) for expanding anesthesiology practice in Northern Minnesota – Duluth Surgical Suites (DSS) coverage. 0.7-0.8 FTE. Option for 1.0 FTE with additional pay when available.1099 Preferred; W-2 options possible. No overnights, no weekends, no holidays. START DATE: March 2025.

Job Qualifications
Active CRNA license in the state of Minnesota
BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
Ability to work flexible, daytime hours
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to perform ultrasound-guided nerve blocks for orthopedic and plastic surgery cases (training can be arranged if needed)

Job Responsibilities
Provide ambulatory anesthesia for a variety of cases including (but not limited to): orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, pain management
Preoperative assessments
Postoperative care
Neuraxial anesthesia and Ultrasound guided nerve blocks
Timely completion and submission of anesthesia records
Discuss cases with Christopher Davies, M.D. or Neil Anderson, CRNA if any questions or concerns about patient management

Salary/Benefits
Rate: $200/hour (1099 position)
Shifts structured Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri
4 days per week, approximately 32 hours per week at DSS
Can coordinate with other CRNA to alternate 3 and 5 day weeks
2-4 day weekends can be achieved without taking time off
5 day per week option with 4 days at DSS and 1 day at LSC or ASC
Guaranteed 4 weeks off per year (coverage provided by NSA)
With enough advance notice, additional coverage may be provided
Anticipated pay: $200 x 32 hour x 48 weeks = $307,200
At 40 hours per week x 46 weeks = $368,000
Opportunity for pain management
Percentage of revenue (TBD) for each pain case performed
Licensing expenses covered by NSA (RN/APRN/CRNA, BLS/ACLS/PALS)
Liability insurance covered by NSA
Potential for health insurance with BCBS
This position allows for an excellent lifestyle. No nights, weekends or call and the ability to achieve 3 weekends routinely or trade off with your CRNA partner for 4 day weekends. Or, if you wish, you may pick up extra shifts at 2 other local surgery centers when available. You will work with a partner to control your own schedule. The practice is primarily same day orthopedics which includes total joint surgery. There will be a small amount of plastics.
